Looking for an indulgent dessert that’s easy to make?
Try this simple recipe for a Peaches and Cream Whiskey Loaf. This loaf is perfect for summer!
Fresh peaches are in season and it’s time to be creative and make the most out of them.
Today’s recipe is pretty original and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients For This Easy Peaches and Whiskey Loaf Recipe
All-purpose Flour
Brown Sugar or granulated sugar
Eggs – You want to have your eggs at room temperature in your peaches loaf.
✦✧Pro Tip To warm eggs, simply put them in a bowl with warm water (not boiling) for 10 minutes.
Sour Cream or Mayo (you won’t taste it, promise)
✦✧Pro Tip The secret to moist loaf. Indeed, the ingredients found in mayo (eggs, oil, and vinegar) actually boost the moisture and fat in your loaf recipes.
Canola Oil
Baking Powder / Baking Soda
✦✧Pro Tip Use FRESH baking powder and baking soda! They start losing their power after 6 months!
Cinnamon and Nutmeg
Whiskey – Any type of whiskey will do, I used Malpe-infused whiskey because that’s what I had at home already. So Yummy!
Fresh Peaches – This recipe works best with fresh peaches.
Pinch of Salt – Don’t skip the salt as it enhances the flavor of all the other ingredients.
2% Milk
Confectioner’s Sugar
How To Make This Peaches and Cream Whiskey Loaf
Step 1 – In a mixing bowl, combine your fresh peaches with the whiskey and cinnamon. Mix well and let the mixture marinate while you prepare the loaf.
Steps 2 and 3 – In two separate bowls, mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients. You want to use two separate bowls to make sure the baking powder and baking soda don’t react too soon.
Indeed, if you mix the wet ingredients immediately in the same bowl as the dry ingredients, your bread might not rise as high.
Step 4 – Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until well combined. Be careful not to overmix your batter as this can alternate the baking powder and baking soda’s reaction.
Yup! It’s OK to have a clumpy batter
Step 4 ½ – Strain the juice from the marinated peaches and mix it with the batter. We don’t want to waste that good whiskey!
Step 5 – Fill the bottom of your loaf pan with the mixture
Step 6 – Add your marinated peaches to your loaf pan and cover with the rest of the batter.
Step 7 – Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
How To Blanch Fresh Peaches
Cut an X at the bottom of your peaches
Place your peaches in boiling water for 1 minute
Immediately place your hot peaches in ice water until they cool down
Peel your peaches!
How To Store Your Peach and Whiskey Loaf
You can easily store your peaches and whiskey loaf in the fridge for 5 days in a closed container or wrapped in plastic.
Can I Freeze This Peach and Whiskey Loaf For Later?
Yes! You can tightly wrap the loaf in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for up to two months.
