The Best 4-Ingredient Homemade Applesauce: Fresh and Flavorful

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium apples
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Peel, and chop the apples into small chunks for quicker cooking.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon and water.
  • Cover and cook over medium heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and breaking down.
  • For a chunky applesauce: Use a potato masher to mash the apples until they reach your desired texture.
  • For a smooth applesauce: Blend with an immersion blender or transfer to a blender and puree until smooth.
  • Let the applesauce cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
